Vancouver Update Part II!

Hello Vancouver! As promised yesterday, here are some quick (really quick--sorry!) snaps of some of the awesome new things we have in the shop now:

The English Bay Dress in a new, smaller size (x-sm, $62)

The fabulous Mt. Pleasant Top (sm-xlg, $85)! I hear rumours there will soon be an olive colour to go along with the mauve pictured below. (I also hear that the powder blue is almost gone.)

Cute new kid's leggings (sizes 2, 4, and 6, $21)

New pillow case sets with fun new prints and colours ($58/set).

Ivanhoe Bag ($220) with bullets and flowers...hee hee...

New Dingle Ball Pillow with a giant beetle and little foxes running riot ($54).

And last, but not least, we finally have some new colours for the men's tees! The colours turned out kind of crummy in my photo (don't tell Glenda, she hates it when the colours are off!), but they include a bright fushcia, dark grey, light blue, and and olive-y green. Awesome! So far we've just ordered in medium and large sizes--the most popular--to test the waters, but if they're a hit you can expect to see them in small and extra large, too. ($34)

Lily Home: Ballsy Decorating

Dingle balls, you either love them or you are obsessed with them. We were lucky enough to find a treasure trove of vintage pom pom dangle dingle dealybob fringe recently, and you bet we're making awesome stuff with it! With the great spirit of Indian taxi interiors guiding us, we bring you these amazing pillows. Featuring colourful Smoking Lily prints on canvas, accompanied on the other side with a dark blue wool. They have a fold-over closure in the back and measure 18'' x 18''. I think these would be perfect way to add a little colour and excitement to any room! More prints and pom pom colours are on their way. Come check them out at our Milkman's Daughter location here in Victoria.

Lily Home: Pillows!

Despite the disbelief of most boys, nothing makes a home cozy like lots of pillows, and we've got lots in the shops right now! Available with or without a form ($58/$78), the linen beauty on the left comes in an ecru colour that goes well with just about anything. We have a multitude of prints ready-made at the moment and this little guy is generally available for custom orders (though I should mention that they are insanely busy at the studio right now).

The fabulous remnant pillows (pictured above atop a Lily Hassock) are also back in stock. Weighing in at approximately one zillion pounds, these pillows are fantastic for households with lots of pint-sized members and/or very large men--the two demographics I find most prone to killing regular, "fluffy" throw cushions. In addition to their general indestructibility, the remnant pillows are super green, as they're made from little scraps at the studio too small to do anything else with....And did I mention that they're $21?!!?

Additionally, we have a great selection of pillow cases available at the moment. Ranging in style and price ($58--$85/set of two), we have all sorts of prints for accompanying all sorts of bedding schemes.

Lily Home: peek into glenda's homewares

Here are a few shots of Lily Homewares in action in my home. Some items are available in our shops now, others were available in the past, and some were Special Orders and Print Yer Owns. Can you tell which are which? I'll date them for hints.

Just a quick word about tea towels - no matter how pretty they are, they are meant to be used! I have found that many people are adverse to using cute tea towels. They hang as ornaments in the kitchen. But, our big tea towels are made from durable, absorbent cotton that is perfect for drying dishes, wiping hands, and folding up to grab hot items. I would advise you to put your Mom's habits aside and get those lovely tea towels off decorative hooks and out of drawers and use them. Make those mundane chores more fun by using something pretty. Really, it is those little things that can perk up your day!
