Studio Update

There is a lot of bustling activity going on in the studio recently. Fall designs, fabrics and prints are making their way across our printing tables. There are also some great men's T's, as usual of course! I brought my son in to try them on, he loves the bold colours and great prints.

This is a great time to come on in and get the guy in your life a T shirt that will make heads turn. Can you guess which was his favourite?

Vancouver Update: Men's Tees

As I was hauling in my boyfriend's laundry yesterday, I realized that he has quite the fantastic Smoking Lily men's tee collection. The tees below are just some of the recently washed summer tees, there is a pile of long-sleeve tees as well. I'm guessing that there are a few clothes-lines that look like this in the Lily family.

We have a wide variety of colours and prints available in all sizes (small through extra large) in the shops right now. Great for Father's Day gifts! As are the ties!

Vancouver Update: Men's Tees

We just received some new Men's Tees for Spring: a couple of old favourites, olive green and asphalt grey, and a couple of fun new brights, aqua and fuchsia!

We sold out of the fuchsia quickly, so I will have to get photos from the next batch that arrives (hopefully tomorrow), but here are photos of the other colours:

....And a few photos of the organic tees we are still carrying. I took the shots yesterday in Horseshoe Bay on a break from a lovely Sunday drive. Christopher was a very good sport for his first modeling assignment on a cold March afternoon.

Vancouver Update Part II!

Hello Vancouver! As promised yesterday, here are some quick (really quick--sorry!) snaps of some of the awesome new things we have in the shop now:

The English Bay Dress in a new, smaller size (x-sm, $62)

The fabulous Mt. Pleasant Top (sm-xlg, $85)! I hear rumours there will soon be an olive colour to go along with the mauve pictured below. (I also hear that the powder blue is almost gone.)

Cute new kid's leggings (sizes 2, 4, and 6, $21)

New pillow case sets with fun new prints and colours ($58/set).

Ivanhoe Bag ($220) with bullets and flowers...hee hee...

New Dingle Ball Pillow with a giant beetle and little foxes running riot ($54).

And last, but not least, we finally have some new colours for the men's tees! The colours turned out kind of crummy in my photo (don't tell Glenda, she hates it when the colours are off!), but they include a bright fushcia, dark grey, light blue, and and olive-y green. Awesome! So far we've just ordered in medium and large sizes--the most popular--to test the waters, but if they're a hit you can expect to see them in small and extra large, too. ($34)

Vancouver Update: Rocking the Hammer!

Hello everybody! This is Erin, reporting in from the wilds of Hamilton (or, rather, Mount Hope, to be exact). Yes, Scott and I have been enjoying his family's hospitality in Ontario this Christmas--despite the rather un-West Coast temperatures, we have been having a great time.

As you can see, everyone was so good this year, Santa got them awesome Smoking Lily shirts!


All good things must come to an end, however, and Scott and I will be flying home tomorrow. I hope everyone in Vancouver had as much fun last week as we did! See you soon, Vancouver!

New Print: Teeth!

Being the creative types that they are, the gals at the studio are always coming up with wacky, wonderful new designs for our silkscreens. Last week we got our first look at the new teeth prints and I think they fit the "strange+beautiful" Smoking Lily design ethos to a T...though, perhaps in our case that should be to a "tee!" Groan....

Where I Went On My Vacation: Bumbershoot

Each year I get together with some diehard Bumbershoot fans and spend 3 or 4 fun-filled days in Seattle. Actually, I missed last year because my cat had a dental emergency the morning I was to leave and required a personal nurse for a few days - sometimes family has to come before fun. This year I managed to leave all obligations behind and hit the 3 day fest running.

I didn't take my camera along so that I would spend less time capturing and more time experiencing, but here are a phone photos.

It was an odd music line up this year, but that allowed me to partake in more film and comedy and dance performances than I usually do. It was nice to mix the nutty routine up a bit.

Here's a shot of our long-time Lily model, Blair, and my boyfriend, Christopher, (both wearing Smoking Lily men's tees) taking a rare rest. It may seem strange that the Krazy Kastle at the mid-way was restful, but if you've been to Bumbershoot you know well that the constant walking and running between venues to do more standing and dancing (for a full hour and a half in the rain to the English Beat!) does require grabbing a seat wherever you can.

Thank you Blair and Christina for turning your 10 year Bumbershoot addiction, into a full blown infatuation of mine too. Looking forward to next year!
