Studio Update:Wrist Warmers

Our latest creation made entirely out of left over fabrics. Nothing goes to waste around here, we save bits and pieces of fabrics we like, knowing one day we will find a use for it. The other day Rachael was pulling down the bins of sale merchandise to send to Milk andVancouver for their Boxing week sale and we came across a bag full of leftover Donka and Wolfshire wool blend fabric bits.It tooks us about 10 minutes to come up with these last minute gift idea. These babies are $24 a pair and available at all three of our retail locations. There are lots of brown and moss green available, and limited amounts of Fucshia, pink and blue denim.

Vancouver Update: Fall is in the air...

Despite the continued sunny days, fall is definitely in the air of late. The shop is full of nice, cozy browns and greens, I've pulled my boots back out, the fleecy Oscillator Dress and boiled wool goodness of the D.D. Jacket (as we call it in Van!) are starting to make a looooot of sense--life is good. Yesterday--while buying a bison tea towel--someone even told me about a pet buffalo a friend of friends of hers has in Alberta; apparently the buffalo even drives around with his "owner" in some sort of modified Cadillac!! I swear, we hear the best stories in here...

Here are a couple quick snaps of some of the new things we've gotten in recently (and I apologize, as glenda takes much, *much* better photos than I do!):

We have lots of other fall things in as well, including a smattering of the D.D. Jacket in brown and raspberry (more coming on Friday!), a fantastic, light blue cotton purse called the Randy Bag ($86), and our very first wool mittens of the season (thanks, Steph!). We'll do our best to get photos up soon, don't worry! In the meantime, relax, sip some nice, hot tea and watch the leaves change. Lovely.

Studio Update: It's a coat party!

Today the studio is yet again in high production mode. Steph and I are having a "party." Every once and awhile there is a need for these parties. Trish comes in in the morning and announces "Today, there must be a coat party." And so we sew. Steph's got the bright pink ones, and I'm working on the brown. We have to stagger which step we're on, so that there's never a fight for the iron. That's not a very party like thing to do, fight for the iron. At the moment, because I have to write this, Steph is getting ahead of me... we like to pretend we're not racing, but deep down Steph and I are definitely racing. We wince when it's time for lunch... hold it in when we have to go to the bathroom. Must... sew... coats... Trish keeps peering over our shoulders and says "Are they done yet? Are they done yet?" She's just as excited as us to see the final product. Soon there will be brown and pink Donka Donka coats for you in stores!
