Studio Update: You look like you need an apron

We've been dabbling in more housewares, the most recent creation being our fabulous new apron! Renee is shown here proving you can still get your chores done and be stylish at the same time. She is wearing the half skirt apron, but for those of us who are a little more exuberant in our daily activities, there is also a bib version. All of us rocked them at the recent Johnson Street Fest, and not only are they freaking cool... they are also amazing. Aprons are currently available in our stores: $84 for the half apron $96 for the full. Cookies anyone?

Lily Home: Apron in the works...

In the midst of her ironing, Liz decided to try on the new apron we're working on for fall. It's a linen cotton blend, printed in navy all-over flies, trimmed in a geometric print japanese cotton. The waist tie is obi-inspired and adds to the feminine shape.

This apron is sadly not available just yet, but it should be in stores by fall!

Sweet Apron

We have been printing on vintage doilies, hankies and napkins for a while now. But look what arrived in the Vancouver shop on Tuesday! The sweetest apron ever. It was already super cute, but adorned with a little chickadee and a moth it's now sublime. Guess I'll add aprons to my list of things to look for while second-handing.

This is also a great reminder that Print-Yer-Owns are still a possibility at Smoking Lily. Bring in your own apron, or pillow cases, or t-shirt, or skirt, or... and as long as it's primarily natural fiber (at least 60% cotton, silk, wool, hemp...) and lays flat we can silk-screen it with the Smoking Lily image of your choosing. Pricing starts at $20 for any single image, and increases for double images, etc. It's a whole new way to look at your wardrobe!
