Vancouver Customer Appreciation Party

It's that time of year again, when we start to look back on the year and feel fortunate for having such a strong following of loyal customers. Not only have you supported our business, but you've added to our enjoyment of it. And so, lovely Lily customers, we would like to do a little something extra for you...

Next Thursday, December 9th, the Vancouver shop will be staying open until 9:oo pm to host a party for you. We will be armed with Bubbly to toast you, a discount of 15% on all purchases to ease your holiday budget, and plenty of pretty packaging and velvet ribbon to take one step out of your holiday preparations by gift wrapping your purchases.

We're looking forward to visiting with you!

If you are one of our mail order customers, please feel free to call us in Vancouver during the party. We will be happy to give you 15% off your mail order purchases, and will include gift wrapping with your shipment.

Cheers from all of us at Smoking Lily!

the milkman's daughter: Opening Party

Last Monday, customers, trades, friends, and staff gathered at 1713 Government Street to celebrate the opening of the milkman's daughter.

Trish was in charge of decorations and created awesome printed white pumpkins for the front window and bunting made with printed paper and fabric. I don't want to take down the bunting - it looks so good!

Great shot of Trish mingling during the party.

Rachael has been supplying the milkman's daughter with terrariums. This one houses an African violet and a tiny bird's nest.

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing the evening with us.

Wake For Slickety Jim's - Anza Club Tonight - Dec 10th

Our much beloved breakfast joint, Slickety Jim's Chat and Chew, was one of the businesses destroyed by the fire at Main and Broadway last month. So sad. When will my craving for awesome kooky vintage decor, great kitchen entertainment, and those amazing vegetarian sausages be satisfied again?

Good news is - Mike is determined to reopen Slickey Jim's, at a new location on Main Street.

Tonight at the Anza Club (8th and Ontario) a Wake is being held to morn our collective loss, to party with Chat and Chew fans, and to help raise funds for the next incarnation of Slickety's.

I'm hoping that crowds of good folk will pile into the Anza to celebrate a new beginning for Mike and the manifestation of his unique vision. There is a great line-up of entertainment in the works. Cover is by donation at the door.

Here's a link for more details.

Hope to see you there! glenda.

Bocce Bon Voyage

Steph took off on us the other day. She's flown away with her new hubby Ben, looking for romance and adventure all over the world for the next four months! For our goodbye celebration (the sort of celebration that's not totally celebrationy where you are totally happy and jealous and sad all at the same time) we played Bocce ball in the park! Trish lugged out a couple of sets, we all dressed in white (much to Steph's bewilderment all day at work) had lots of fun and even ate cupcakes! Fun was had by all...but we miss you Steph. We hope you are having fun, and we'll see you soon!
