We wish you a Merry Christmas!
The next time we will post a blog won't be until January 2nd! Can you believe it? Another year come and gone...again. January second is inventory day here in the Smoking Lily studio. We go through all the drawers and shelves measuring every meter of fabric and counting every spool of thread and individual button. It's a lot of work, but it has to get done!
The picture we chose to post this week is of our lovely fabric cutter, Rachael, and her new friend Pepper. Pepper is visiting us here in the studio today because her Mommy, Tara, is taking her on an airplane after work to visit their family for Christmas. Pepper is very cute and peticularily curious...she thinks buttons are food. So adorable!
Rachael happens to be modeling our newest creation, the "Good Fortune" skirt, just like the old one but this time made of a grey stretch cotton. This skirt has a cute front pleat with a print peeping out. Sorry you can't see this all very well in the photo, we will get better ones up on our website soon!
All the girls here in the studio wish you the best wishes for Christmas and the New Years. Have a safe and happy holiday!

A Very Successful Sausage Party!
Last night our first annual Sausage Party was a total success! As promised, we served every man through our door with a sausage and a cold beer from our wicked local microbrewery Phillips
(thanks again to Matt and Simon). With fun and shopping had by all, the ladies of Lily had a great time wrapping each gift with our printed wrapping paper (so cute). A special thanks to all the girls in the studio for their hard work: Rachael (great idea!), Nicole, Steph, Tara and Beth (our resident foose ball bad ass), and to Mr. Richard Pyatt for all your help.

Forget about the cold...we're busy with Spring!
Here in the studio we always have to be a step ahead so we've begun designing for Spring! The theme this spring is "under the sea" so what would be better than an apron with a windmill on it? There's nothing more under the sea than Holland. Well except for maybe things that are actually under the water literally.
We're also working on a new dress based on the "Seahorse Blouse". This dress has a keyhole opening instead of buttons and a cute flared skirt bottom. It comes in black, and it's so new that we are still thinking whether or not to print it, and with what and where.
What's the cutest skirt ever? The pothole skirt made in a beige stretch cotton printed with the all over "plate" print is! Available to you right at this very moment!
We're also really liking the bamboo fabric these days. And what's not to like? This material is amazingly soft and is a sustainable resource...bamboo just keeps on growin' and doesn't need much water! We've altered our "Forget me knot" top into the "Forget the Knot" top to bring you the most comfortable good looking scoop neck top you'll ever put on.
Keep posted for even more stuff to come in the new year, but in the mean time....Merry Christmas!
