Why, oh why were the 80s so strange? I just came across this awesome commercial last night--does anyone remember this? Cathy says it's ringing a bell for her...

Lily Inspiration: The Wilderness Downtown

One of my friends posted this as "easily one of the coolest website I've seen all year!" I agree.
Go to the link, type in your childhood home address and watch your own personal music video for one of Arcade Fire's new songs "We Used to Wait."

Lily Home: New Duvet Sets
Here are some photos of our new duvet sets. We took these photos at the request of Western Living magazine--exciting.
There are two styles: all over printed ($240 for the duvet and 2 pillow cases) and patchwork ($315 for the set).
The first shots are of the all over printed variety. Yes, that is an appliqued anatomical heart!

Lovely Lily Customers!
Look what was in our email inbox this morning! A lovely note and photo from one of our awesome customers. Thanks Mia, you're sweet!
Hi Glenda and Erin,
I just wanted to send a photo that I had taken in the Lily Dress with my friend Antje... we came in and bought the dress at the same time so that we could be twins. We've both worn it as our summer-travel dress, and it has been my go to dress with the heatwave here in Halifax... Hope the summer is still happening on the West Coast and that there are a final few days the Lily dress can be worn, sans cardigan.

Johnson Street Festival
Over the weekend we took the studio to the Johnson Street store location for the first ever Johnson Street Festival. We used our new mustache screen to create on-demand custom mustaches for festival goers. All the money collected went to the Youth Empowerment Society, a local group focused on helping youth out of difficult situations, and teaching them to make healthy life choices. After making beyond a hundred awesome soul patches, chops, goatees, handle bars, Charlie Chaplins, and Marios we raised over two hundred dollars for the organization. The scared, the skeptical, the enthusiastic and the adventurous all had fun in showing off their one-of-a-kind mustaches.
Vancouver Update: Dancing Leaf Jewelry
Each piece is a stunning collection of beads and semi-precious tones and vintage buttons. They have such a vibrance and sweet delicacy. The added bonus is that they are supremely durable. I have had my Bouquet Ring for over a year and it's has been dragged in and out of pockets and purses and has been washed (as I forget to take it off) over and over again, and the ring is beautiful as ever. Strength and beauty is a lovely combo.
Here are a few of the rings we have in the shop at present.

And earrings.

She also makes gorgeous lace pieces (as mentioned in my previous blog post), below are two white lace bracelets. We carry her lace earrings and necklaces as well. As Noriko is constantly bringing in new creations, I'm certain that I will be posting more photos of her work soon.
